Airbag light

My 98 blazer airbag light comes on at any given time. How can I fix this?
If my airbag light comes on periodically, would it prevent my cruise control from working properly? Anybody knows?

The wires for your multifunction switch (turn signal) and CC are in the same thick bundle of wires running down your steering column to body electrical connector C211. The connector is at about the 10 or 11 o'clock from your brake pedal...pretty close to your P-brake ratchet mounted on the firewall. It's a big 48 pin connector about an inch or so wide and a couple inches long. If you get your head up under your knee bolster you can see it pretty clearly. The airbag wire is big and yellow. I'd wonder whether or not you have some intermittent short between the CC wires and Airbag wires somewhere between the multifunction switch and connector C211.

To do a correct troubleshooting I'd recommend you go to either alldatadiy.com or eautorepair.net and sign up for a subscription to the Technical Service Manual for your truck. It's under $20 and they are the manuals the dealers use. There you can find step by step troubleshooting procedures (there is a ton of steps) as well as images and wiring diagrams.
