Default All power goes out when trying to turn on

I have a 97 Blazer 4 door 4x4. When I try to turn the truck on all the power goes out. Everything! Sometimes if I just open and slam my door shut the power turns back on. Sometimes I have to wiggle the battery. Usually after a couple times of this it starts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

IT can be a number of things... Dirty loose battery cables. Bad terminal bolts on the battery. Loose ground. Check those and report what you find

Thanks. I will check all those when I get home from work. I have checked to make sure the cables are tight on the battery but will check again. And to make sure, I can find the ground wire coming from the negative on the battery right?

I checked the cables. I guess the negative could of been a little loose. I don't really know how to tell though. I also don't know where the ground is. The truck started right up today. This problem only happens sometimes

yeah it moved. not really sure how to tighten though. With all the cars I have owned I have never had to put a new battery in or ever deal with one

you tighten it with a wrench, and if the bolt is stripped, use a vice grip. Its real simple.

Thank you. If the problem happens again after I tighten it I will be posting again. It doesnt happen every time I start the truck. So it might be a while to find out. I try not to drive too much
