i have regular bulbs in there and they get 2 hot i really think im overloading the system
I think there 27 watt bulbs there the ones you can use for your reverse lights
also is there a set of white leds for them ?

Superbrightleds.com has just about every bulb for cars, and most in lots of colors. They also have a vehicle bulb finder that can tell you which ones you need. On mine they are the t10's, but it may be different on the first gens.

Is it wedge based?
Edit: I mentioned that they may be T10's. The corner lights on your dads s10 have T10's. you could see if those fit than those are the ones you need.

No they are like the bulbs you put in your reverse sockets just the ones i put are 27 watts
I think they are the ones causing my radio horn dome light fuse to get hot

replace them with lower wattage bulbs?
I'd say 27 watts is definately too much for courtesy lighting, considering most headlights are only 55 watts lol
