Default Anyone know what this connector goes to?

Hey, I was just under my dash (01 Jimmy 4x4) swapping out the parking brake and found this connector and its mate not connected. What does it go to and do I need to connect it? It's right beside the steering column. It's dark so these are the best pics I can get. Thanks. Pics loaded in post below, don't know why they didn't come up on this one.

Whatever it is, it's unplugged from its corresponding connector. I'm the 3rd owner of this Jimmy so I don't know what the PO's did under the dash. My dome lights don't work the way they are supposed to and my rear speakers aren't working...I don't want to just re-plug something in without knowing what it attaches to.

that's the size my phone took, can't help that. I thought someone might recognize the square black electrical block with all the multi color wires coming out of it just to the left of the steering column and see the smaller connector I'm talking about under it.

Any way to tell what color wires go to it? If so, you could probably find a schematic and trace it them to figure out what they go to

i'd say if you have things not working and found something that's not plugged in plug it in maybe things will work again i do know for certain that its not for your airbags but if no one figures it out by tomorrow ill look under mine to see what it might be. and while im at it ill get a pic of the one i found not hooked to anything behind my glove box cause it has me puzzled
