Default Battery?

I been having trouble with my truck starting in the cool. I jumped it and it ran a couple of days sat for 4 days and had to jump it again. My wife drove it to work. It started before and after work. She stopped a did some shopping and it didn't start. I left it alone for 5 days and tried to start it. It almost started. Jumped it and drove it for a half hour. Turned it off and tried to start it right away and it just click. It's getting good volts but I think the battery just went.

Could be a weak or dead cell... or two. Charge it up and have it tested.

Just to let you guys know , I just tried to start it 2.5 to 3 hours of sitting and it turned over a little and clicked. I tried it two more times and it started on the thrid time. I really think it's a weak cell.

If the battery is 3 or more years old just buy a new one and be done with it.

That is a wise suggestion in the hot southern states. Heat will quickly kill a battery. In northern states, my battery life has been 6 yrs min. My last OEM battery on a Buick lasted 11 years before the terminal corroded away. Regardless, the OP's battery should be tested. No sense in wasting $ when it may not be required. It may end up being a bad battery in the end. Also check the battery current draw with everything off. This will tell you is you have a higher than normal leak, draining the battery sooner than it should.

My civic battery was 11 years old and I only changed it because I figured I was living on borrowed time and it would surely fail on the coldest morning when I was already running late

if the battery has been run down several times to the point you needed a boost the battery is likely trashed regardless
It would be best to fully charge out of vehicle , let it rest over night and test with an old school carbon pile tester if your looking for a 100% test
