Default Battery keeps dying-help!

Hi everyone, I tried searching for similar threads and got nothing, so here goes.
My 1997 Blazer has a huge (50 amp) draw on the battery that doesn't go away when I pull any of the fuses, but does go away if I disconnect the alternator. The alternator tested fine, but my mechanic told me it could pass the test even if the rectifier was burned out. So, I replaced the alternator, the problem went away... And came back within 2 weeks. Brand new battery and alternator. Do I have a different problem or is my blazer just ruining the alternators for some reason? What could cause this?
Thanks in advance,
Tim

I had a similar issue when I first got mine. Luckily I had the receipt for the alternator and it had a lifetime warranty. Took it to O'Reilly and swapped it out. The one I gave them was only in the truck for about a month. So yes, you could have gotten a bad part. It's happened to me quite a bit. Especially where I used non-oem parts. These things like ac delco, fyi.
