brake light wire melted 96 blazer

i have a 96 blazer that keeps blowing fuses when i hit the brakes i did some serching and found a that the white wire going to the brake pedal switch is melted i was woundering what this wire goes to

My guess would be something that is grounded & it shouldn't be. Trace the wire, see where it's getting pinched or grounded out & replace it. It could have a bad connection at the other end causing the issues too. Brake lights work on a reverse switch or whatever it's called (open circuit - no brake pressure, closed circuit brakes on) meaning when you push the peddle it allows + power to light your brakes. You may have an issue with the brake light switch or along the wires to the lights. Ugly situation to trace for sure but it's the best place (& most promising) to start.
A Haynes manual has diagrams, step by step (for the most part anyway) procedures for a complete tear down & rebuild. Good $25 investment!
