Default Brake switch issue

I just got a 96 blazer with 155k, and failed inspection due to the brake dash light staying on, so I ran OBDii and got code C1281 brake switch circuit malfunction. the actual brake lights work just fine, I tried disconnecting the parking brake switch, no luck. so with all said, what could be the culprit of my dash light?

Google is your friend. I found someone else with your problem "Reporting DTC "C1281 - Brake Switch Circuit Fault"

Reply: The ABS module is looking at the voltage on the purple wire coming from the stoplamp switch. It should be 12V when the brakes are NOT applied, and 0V when the brakes are applied.

It turned out to be a loose fuse.
