No Vent Control/AC - Switch only Turns Fans "on" - Replace Switch?

Hey all,
I recently had my steering wheel harness replaced due to corrosion causing some contacts to fail and report ABS/Break light issues, as well as other oddities like the HVAC system turning off or not functioning. Since the harness has been replaced things work fine, The fan switch setting (1, 2, 3 or 4) all work and cycle fine, etc.
But since this was changed, The switch which controls AC/MAXAC, And all the vent positions has not worked at all.
I have tried to tell the mechanic and he keeps thinking its something with my compressor which I know for a fact works fine, and worked prior to them doing service on my system. Unfortunately its hard to convince someone to replace something when they think it is something else.
Does anyone typically know what could be the problem/what could need replacing when the AC/Vent control switch does not work - All it does is turn the system from OFF to ON - Further options do not effect anything.
I need this fixed soon! If its worth noting, 2 of the lights on the right side of that "Vent Control Switch" (The Dashlights) are unlit. Is it possible to buy this switch as a dealership/parts item? Or am I going to have to rip it off from a Wreckers vehicle?

Let me get this straight, you are able to control the flow of air but unable to control where it blows too? When you turn the switch does it only blow from the defrost and floor vents? Oh yea what is the year and model of the blazer?

Sorry for the late reply,
Yes, I can control the flow (Settings 1-4) and I can turn it on, But the air only comes out of the Mains (the ones that blow in your face) for the most part.
AC Doesnt work either since this began, Used to (Had it recharged too).
Beyond that, half of the lights on the switch are dead (From the AC/Defrost position to the bottom right hand side) but ocasionally they light up, and when they are lit simply changing the vent control will put them out again.
its a 98 jimmy SLS
4x4 works (Except 4LO, it kinda just flashes and then goes blank if you try to go 4Lo) and there doesnt seem to be any other vacuum issues, although it kinda sounds like it when the engine is cold... on low acceleration it will make a kinda hucking/sucking sickly moan but goes away when engine is warm.
