Hello, I have a Chevy blazer 4 door 2 wheel drive 4.3l vin w that has issues with the fuel gauge sitting on empty. I traced the wire harnesses back from the gas tank to the front of the truck and found that the female and male plug when disconnected with a screw driver across the two pegs on the far right I get a away full reading. I have replaced the fuel pump with a 200 dollar one and have checked the resistance and everything is good except the ground wire. Can’t get any reading from it and so my gas gauge sits on empty. If anybody has ideas please let me know and thank you This is the plug that when I put a screw drive across the two pegs on the right side I get way over full. I hope this help
clean the sending unit ground wire connection. it should be just a short wire that runs from the sending unit and bolts to the top of the rear shock crossmember
Edit: if you replaced the harness pigtail at the sending unit( most of them come with one) also double check the connections you made
Yes I have cleaned the sending unit ground. I also ran a multi meter to test the purple wire, Gray wire and the two black wires. The purple wire reads and so does the gray wire and black wires.
I’ve checked and rechecked the connections on the back. Also I’ve traced the wire harness all the way to the front and ran tests on those connections. The square connector has a power coming through it and I can get a reading from the connector.
I have taking apart the dash to look at my gas gauge and ran test on that and it works till about the half mark on the gauge then the neddle stops. I have found my fuel level buffer but Not sure how to check to see if that is working right. I read some where it controls stuff but can’t found out how to test it
Any ideas because I used up all of mine.
