Dash and headlights flicker while accelerating.. Engine dies ocassionally
This sounds like the issue that I am fighting. I have narrowed it down to the battery connection. The factory side mount terminals have 3 tabs on them that dig into the battery and after normal wear it causes a gap between the terminal and the battery. This seems to restrict both charging of the battery and the starting of the Blazer. I can actually see where it is arcing. I have done my best to file the metal smooth again but it seems to be a losing battle. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am considering just going to a standard post mount for the battery but would prefer not to.
This is how I have mine. It works great AND I have solid connections for booster cables if need be. If you use 2 nuts then you can leave the nut against the side terminal tight & back off the 2nd nut to add accesories/spade connections.
