Default Dome Light Problem

I have a 98 gmc and my lights don't turn on when I open my doors, They work if i push the click button but it's kind of a pain to get in and then click the button. I've checked my fuses and they all look good. Anyone else have this problem??

the switch (or button whatever you call it) near the fuse panel. could be stuck, or disconnected somehow.

That switch can go bad as well. Especially if some water gets on it which is possible given its location. Or like 247 said could be disconnected or something.
