DYI PCM Tuning and flashing

Yeah after a little more research, I understand that a little better now I haven't touched it yet, and I probably wont with this 220k mile 4L60E lol at least not any time soon. I DO plan on throwing a Corvette servo in it to firm up the 1/2 shift at least, because that shift is noticeably sluggish. After that I might play around with the torque management a little. Not going to bother letting it get more torque through shifts if it's just going to take it's time and slip between gears anyhow lol

i was pretty happy with the results from the corvette servo on its own. it really brings the 1-2 shift to life. and its so cheap and easy to install. but in the meanwhile, a slight increase in max line pressure along with an increase across the upshift shift pressure vs torque chart the will also help firm up the 1-2 shift (as well as others) if done in small amounts this shouldnt really have a negative effect on the life of the trans from my understanding. if you have any interest in doing that i can walk you thru how i matched the shift pressure chart to take advantage of the extra line pressure ( i followed instructions from a very experienced tuner) i also cut my shift times to .200 across the board... if youre worried about the trans(its understandable with a 220k mile 4l60 lol) you could cut shift times down but keep them above .250 which seems to be the consensus of a safe level of decrease without increased wear on the trans from what my research showed
what did you move your shift points to?
also forgot to mention... i really dig the benchtop setup you made for reflashing. awesome idea.

I've heard from some that increasing the line pressure up is not such a great idea on a higher mileage well worn in trans, as it could cause seals to start failing and bypassing? But I'm no transmission tech so I don't know how accurate that is lol.
The only thing I've done at this time is play with the shift points based off the engine RPM, vehicle speed, and throttle position. Moving them up a little has worked great to keep it in gear when the cruise is set and going over small hills, although that might also be attributed to getting the vehicle speed set right too lol.
Using TunerPro by the way, not anything like HP Tuners, although most of the features are still there with TunerPro.

I'm not 100% sure, I'd have to see if there's a calibration file that will let it decode the OS parameters on the computer. Pretty sure it's mainly geared towards the 411 style PCMs
