will do crossed referenced a GP Sorensen FS4 but I think the one coming in is a different brand and part number (ordered at O'reilly's auto parts) and they said it'll probably be Monday or Tuesday before it comes in, which isn't a big deal since the truck wont be back together for a little while...

when I go to pick it up, I might have them cross reference the other GP Sorensen FS numbers too, just to update the thread info

yeah the 4.3 heads are the same left and right, just flipped 180 degrees. if you see the two prong two wire sensor on the driver's side towards the back, look in the same spot on the head on the passenger side and you'll see a small threaded in plug in the spot the sensor should be

I found the sensor, so I can now imagine where the plug is. What about the plug on the intake right below where the upper radiator hose connects, would that work the same? Do all 2 speed fans work the same? Do I just apply +voltage to the third wire to kick it into high speed?

that would probably work just as well as long as you have the port there, couldn't tell you if it's the same size thread though so I don't know that the same temp switches would work. my non EGR valve 4.3 doesn't have a port there, just a blank flat spot on the manifold, so I'm assuming it's only on the EGR valve equipped 4.3's that have the threaded hole there? wouldn't be anything just to drill and tap the aluminum manifold, but there's already a threaded hole there ready to go on all the 4.3's on the passenger head

This is something I have been meaning to do for a while now since my craptastic electric controller decided to die! Thanks for the part numbers I just ordered the switch and pigtail on Ebay. I got both for $15 shipped from seller mikebo for anyone who is interested. They should be here by Tuesday

sweet deal, about half the price of getting it from a parts store lol

yeah I just don't trust those pricey controllers any more... I'd much rather do it this way and get creative with diodes and and 3 position switch inside to make it do what I WANT it to do, and more importantly, WHEN I want it to do it lol

Thanks for that part # even the guys at my O'riley couldn't find it, but now with that # I found one at Autozone for $12. Do you think the connector is absolutely necessary, or would a bullet connector work OK.

Or you could just spend an extra $3 and get it on Ebay
