Default Parasitic draw

Found 1.56 amp draw and within 30 seconds it falls right back to zero, can anybody direct me from this point, why does it disappear?

I need some context here. How are you measuring and under what conditions? What problem are you trying to solve?

Battery goes dead every couple of days. I used the volt meter on the negative side, put the car to sleep, find 1.56 amp draw, then thirty seconds later amp drops down to zero. Can you help? 2005 Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4

Before I can find where the parasitic draw is it disappears.

You said voltmeter on the negative side. In order to measure parasitic current draw you need to use either a clamp on ammeter capable of dc amps or you have to put a digital ammeter inline on one of the battery cables after taking the cable clamp off of the battery. Do you mean voltmeter or ammeter? Are you measuring current or voltage? How are the meter cables connected?

Hey George, I'm finding it hard to explain over the computer, can you call me or can I call you, it would be easier for me

I unhooked the negative battery cable from the battery, ran my voltmeter from the battery to the negative cable, put on 10 amp DC, put the car to sleep, found that I had a 1.56 amp draw, but it only stays at 1.56 amp for about 30 seconds then drops to .40 amps, but battery still goes dead in 2 days and battery is good. And when I start the car the security ,light stays on all the time and car runs perfect. This is a 2005 chevy S10 blazer 4x4, with 82,000 miles. Any help would be appreciated.

OK, it sounds like you are putting the meter inline from negative battery post to negative battery cable in dc amp mode. The confusion was because you have a digital multimeter that is capable of measuring volts (acting as a volt meter), amps (ammeter), resistance and depending on the meter possibly frequency, capacitance, etc.

The problem is that your "sleep" current (amp draw) is too high at 0.4 amps which is 400 milliamps. Ideally it should be under 50 milliamps and worst case it should be less than 120 milliamps. Make sure that you are really in sleep mode (wait 15 min), hood and doors closed and no lights on. If you still get 0.4 amps then open the drivers door, clamp the door switch, wait for sleep mode and then start pulling fuses to see where the draw is and then we go from there.
