Looking forward to seeing how this works out. The neon stopped working in mine and I’ve been wanting to do leds as well. Interested to see how you get it apart and mount The strips

So I haven't finished the wires pr hooked them up yet, but I got the strips inside the spoiler housing.

I couldn't get it hopened, so I cut access into it through the back, I should've made 1 cut, but I made 2 not thinking. It's not the prettiest, but its sealed, and won't be seen lol.

Two piece shouldve been 1, the dark part on the inside is the back of the chrome reflector for the neon

The balast for the neon

Glued back together

Leds. One is on the chrom reflector. The other is on the cut of piece

Grooved the chrome piece a little for the wires to sit, noticed when i put the back on, they were getting pinched.

Rubber vent cover from thw back of the light ficture, drilled out center for wires

Really tight fit to get the rubber back in with the wires, but just enough to keep everything snug

Attached the stock wire to the led ends, wrapped them in electrical tape, then hear shrinked. Tested on a 9v battery as it's all I had on hand, and looks good. Will be better when it gets the full 12v hopefully lol. But will paint the spoiler tomorrow and get in on the blazer asap. Just using 3m tape.

Got the stock plug that i will be using. Hoping to attach the stock third light to the spoiler third light. Hoping to have both roof and spoiler lights work together.

Got the plug temporarily put together to test the light, tested on the jimmy before installing on blazer.

Will prime and paint the spoiler today, and put it all together hopefully over the weekend.

Edit: primed the spoiler

Painted, taped, and going to install on the blazer, I left enough wires and it accessible to add the roof third light when I get one to replace it lol.

Went to install. But ran into a couple of things. Hopefully will have time to tackle over the weekend.

Placed on st patys day

Will have to cut about 1" back from the edge to fit, or drill a hole

Can kinda see the lines i made. Might drill a hole, but will need a uv protected guard around the wire going to the body.

Left a gap in the tape for the wire, but no go. I could build up to the height of the wire, got it doubled so far.

So since then, I've notice one strip start to sag out of place lol.

Time to look into some brighter strips and glueing them in place this time lol, or maybe gorilla double sided tape.

Will update when I do
