Default First gen 3rd brake light

my 94 had one, I liked it and want to do it on my jimmy. The question is, how are they wired up on the 94's, I already got the light off a 94 from u pull. Does it just go across that plastic trim piece at the roof, and down the side and tap into the brake light wire on either passenger or drivers side?
If so, how does the light know not to blink when you turn on a blinker?

Mod/Admin can delete this post, I figured it out, it needs to run to the white wire that comes off the brake light switch to eliminate the flash from the signals

Thanks
