fuel pump
95 Blazer, when cranking to start, I crank it for 2-3 seconds at a time, it always starts on the third try. I'm thinking that's when I get oil pressure up, it doesn't seem to run the fuel pump in the start mode. Where am I losing power to the pump when cranking?
Thanks for the idea. I've tried leaving the key on for a minute before cranking and it doesn't seem to help. It takes about 5 seconds of cranking before it will start. How is the fuel pump powered during cranking? Could I have a fusible link gone?
turn the key 5 times in 10 sec pauses without cranking. then crank. if it starts up its the valve in the pump draining the pressure back..
you really need to rent a free fuel pressure gauge at autozone. pressure must be above 60 at key on,and hold above 55 for 10 min. if not, pumps bad..
If you decide to change the pump,ONLY go with delphi or ac delco....if you dont, you will hate your life later.
COULD be the spider too..you having any weird idling/driving issues like stalling, shuttering etc?

ok,your fuel injection system is a spider :

Its inside the intake manifold. the thing in the middle is the fuel pressure regulator, and the legs is little poppet valves (sorta like mini fuel injectors). the regulator can leak etc causing hard to start, chugging,no power conditions. If its leaking,or has a bad nut kit (2 fuel lines inside the manifold that gets the gas too it). those can cause these issues too.
before you go as far as digging into that stuff, rent a fuel pressure gauge and test the pressure.
