basically seems about it. maybe a swr meter since that is a tuneable antenna or maybe you can bring it to a truck stop and they can do it for a price. ive ran both the firestick and a cobra 29 in the past. cobra 29 was like the Cadillac of cbs like 15 years ago when i used to be into that stuff. im running a non tunable firestick now and it works pretty good. i live like a half mile from the expressway and pulled out of my garage and did a radio check with it on channel 19 and the truck drivers heard me
D*** OSS you really are my younger brother!! I just found this thread and you got the exact same setup as I have on my truck. I guess great minds think alike. You will be happy with it I know I am. I haven't searched but did you get it mounted yet?
Ive got a 29LTD classic and I love it. It needs work tho and I really miss it. Ive got a K30 magnet mountthat gives me almost 0 swr and it does the same on every other CB ive hooked it up to. With my cb set up, I used to be able to reach out and talk to people in Centerville, IA which is about 30 miles or so from me.
