Default head light grounding+hids

i went to add hids and i plugged the passenger side in it kicked right on when i tested it. the drivers side on the other hand flashes so i swapped back the the h1 bulb that came with it. it is still dim. the high and low work fine on the passenger side, but the driverside is dim, and prettty much useless. i have a 2000 lt blazer. with factory fogs.

any help would be appreciated
thanks in advance

try flipping the connections around. meaning where the bulb plugs into the ballast, flip them to be red to black not red to red on the side thats dim......its how i had to do mine on all my rigs that have them.

wait like the wires coming from the ballast not the ones going in to it from the rig. and it isnt just the hid that is messed up. its the non hid high as well. i put the regular h1 in that side as the hid would have been strobing and totally useless

yes, the wires going from the ballast to the bulb, flip those and if u have one hid and one stock bulb it may take power from the non hid side, try flipping the wires and if that doesnt work u may have a bad ground, but i think u can just flip the wires. is the kit u got brand new or used? if its used u may also have a bad bulb.

defininitely not a bad bulb or ballast when i hooked the kit up on that side. i started with the driver side first. hooked it up relized my headlight didnt work. took that same bulb ballast and all and tried just touching it on the battery. lit right up no flicker or anything. im thinking it is the ground. i just dont know where to look. being as the other side is bright. and works fine. as of right now i have a hid in the passenger side and it works fine. and until i can figure out the dim and output i have a standard h1 bulb (non hid) that way i dont f*** up a ballast or bulb in the process of troubleshooting this. but as it sat when i didnt have an hid in the passenger side i still had that side as the bright side. so what would cause that. and before i swapped lenses and tried the hid that the problem arose in the driver side. i tried the factory stuff and it is still a problem.

that i cant tell u y. sounds weird. as for a ground its probably close to ur headlights. the shorter the ground the better it performs so the ground has to be close to ur lights, try behind the bezels or sumwhere in/on the inner fender well on that side. i really dont know.

Im replacing the passenger side hid driving light on a 2000 gmc jimmy diamond edition, can I get away with just replacing the one side or do I have to replace both sides for everything to work right?

It seems that there are alot of problems with the passenger side hid driving lights on the gmc jimmy diamond editions!!! Maybe everyone that has one should all get together and force GM to intiate a recall on their hid lighting systems... $1200. for a headlight is B S. and does the driver side unit have a relay/fuse configuration with it? rushalot wants 2 know
