Default Grounding question.

Since I need a better ground for my cb and someone suggested that the stereo ground would be good I figure I will do that. My question is that if I tap into the head unit harness ground will it distort or affect the sound of the stereo at all?

I cant imagine that it would, but you can't find a decent ground under the dash?

you cant just take a self-tapping screw and drive it into firewall, or body somewhere?
