!!help !!! got my voltage regulator !!
So i have a 2004 blazer 4.3L and i just bought a HO alt with an external regulator. I have no idea where to mount this voltage regulator. It says to mount it on the firewall, but wouldn't I have hot air blowing into the interior if i ever decide to remove the regulator?
Do i just simply screw in new holes somewhere on the firewall?
Is there a safer way to mount this thing without making new holes? Any good spots?
I'm a noob when it comes to under the hood. All i know how to do is install an alternator and a battery. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
the regulator looks exactly like this (i know this isn't a regulator, but the shape is the same):

How you doin? You could mount it on the firewall. No worrys about heat or anything. Or you could mount it on the fenderwell off to the side. Anyplace that is dry and not touching any other wires should be fine. By the way, what alt did you get? I'm shopping for one and thought I'd ask.

pretty good. Thanks for the help. I'm just a total noob with cars, so i was scared about mounting in the wrong spot. The alt I got is from mechman, site is mechman.com. this is the second one i bought from him and is a very reputable company. Thanks !!
