OK, I have hit a SNAG!
Has anyone else changed their power window motor?
I NEED HELP!
OK, here is the issue...
I have both the motor AND the window regulator out of the door.
I have drilled out the rivets and removed the old broken motor off of the regulator.
I had tested it first, out of the door to make sure it actually WAS the motor. It did NOTHING with power hooked up to it.
Right now, it is in a vise on my bench and the new motor is bolted to the regulator with the new bolts that came with the motor from Rock Auto.com.
I made absolutely sure that I used the same HOLES as were previously used to connect the two together.
I took it out to the truck, and hooked it to power, to try it out before installing it into the door.
It only went ONE WAY. all the way to the end, but wouldn't go the other way at all.
I have tested the switch and I get power both ways, ( + and - ).
I took the motor off and reset the regulator, and then put the motor back ON. (UNMOUNTED to the regulator, the motor goes BOTH DIRECTIONS!)
The regulator has a huge coil spring on it so it goes super easy (under spring pressure) one way, and much harder the other way.
It will only go, of course the direction that the spring is pushing it, with it out of the door, I don't know if that is "UP" or "DOWN". I would assume it's "UP" to compensate for the weight of the window.
PLEASE HELP ME!!
Thanks, in advance!

Okay.. the motor runs both directions off the regulator.
It runs fine WITH the direction of spring tension.
Wont run from end of travel the other direction AGAINST spring tension.
Wonder What would happen if the weight of window was countering the spring tension. Or.. since you have it in a vise.. if you aided by pushing 'down'
Seems to me you have covered all the bases, yourself

Window fixed. Was the silly switch. Longer explanation in "Builds". But got a cheap switch from Amazon .com. Installed regulator, bolted in window, replaced door panel.
Bruises on forearms and hands, but mostly unscathed/
