HID on startup...no worky
Ok simple question...anyone with an HID kit from hidextra or any other
retro fit kit have a similar issue...
My hid kit on my low beams doesnt want to start up consistantly
on engine startup....only happens if the ahl kicks on the lights. I posted
in the quad mod thread but i dont think its related to that. I have searched and
it seems they can have a voltage draw issue if triggered at startup.
Anyone have a similar issue...i may have to disable the AHL.
Thanks guys

That happens to me too, just put on your parking brake and the ahl won't kick in until you release it.

Yup. That did it. So. Ahl is the problem...ok so i guess i have to figure out what to live with and without
well thank you for the help...much appreciated.

You are welcome, I figured it out the hard way when I installed my HID's, is just a matter of getting used to put the parking brake on.

Mine did something similiar, when I started the truck they would flicker & half the time 1 would not stay on. I worked around that by flicking the high beams on for a sec & the HID would light up. Then I got new digital slim ballasts & they fire up everytime now.

cant you just disable AHL? i disabled them on my blazer and now have zero HID problems.

I like the AHL & DRL's make mine legal (less issues)

i just disabled my ahl today...michigan doesn't seem to care much about many things car related.
i do like the ahl system....but if i am gonna flip e-brake on and off..i might as well just use the headlight switch.
