Default High beams not staying on

Background: 2004 blazer zr2

High beams and indicator on dash light up when stick is pulled back, then go off when it is released instead of staying on. All of the google searches I've done have turned up people with newer GM vehicles that didn't know they changed the stick to push forward for brights, in other words I haven't found anything useful.

Backstory: About 2 weeks ago my low beams stopped working. Oddly enough both of the bulbs blew at the same time. I replaced the bulbs and restored them to working condition, however now my brights don't stay on. This is very strange because I've been using the brights as surrogate headlights for the past week with no problems. As soon as I replaced the low beam bulbs, wallah, brights won't stay on.

I have the quad beam mod done if that helps diagnose the issue.

Thanks for the help.

edit: Found the problem, bad ground. This can get deleted.
