Default Instrument Panel Lights Up - Car Still Running!

I own a (used) 2001 Blazer w/less than 70,000 miles. I bought the Blazer about 8 months ago. The car has been running great w/no issues. On my way to work this morning going about 55 mph, the instrument panel lit up as if the car had stalled - but the car was running just fine. It did it twice - each time the panel lit up, and then each light would go out with the air bag light staying on the longest. It spooked me and I came home. I have had to replace the fuse for the turn indicators once.
I have done some research online but all I have found is complaints about Blazers from various years having partial or complete instrument panel cluster failures - and that isn't the case here. The panel lit up, and then everything went back to normal - twice.
Any ideas?
