Default More LED Problems - this time gauges not working

Ok so I purchased 194s from superbright with the wedge base. They fit in perfectly and everything, but when I plug the gauge cluster into the car I get nothing. I checked to see if I maybe killed my dimmer switch by moving it up and down, and the park/reverse/neutral and mileage meter change brightness, so I know it's not that.

Uhhh...what am I doing wrong?

it seems like they're not making contact with the silver rings around the holes that they're supposed to (im sure there's a technical term for that somewhere)

I do not know these style LED's that well. but the 2 wires that are on either wide of the wedge base, pull the wire contact out a bit so it is not tight up against the bulb. when you slide it into the socket, it should have a better chance at making contact.

just tried that, they're out as far as they'll go.

i'm going to take a serrated knife to them and make it so that the twist lock still grips but it doesn't lock completely that way i can position the contacts further on the board

it would be real nice if it was that easy. The tough times of making stuff awesome. In the end, it will be worth it.

Sorry to hear that you were having issues, but sometimes the PnP bulbs need a little persuasion to work just right.

I took a serrated knife and sawed away at the actual "locking" part of it (that prevents the socket from rotating more than 90 degrees) so that it was tight enough to still grip and not budge easily but allowed me to position the contacts better. Everything up smoothly now, will post a thread of the correct links and numbers for my blazer.

Leds are not perfected yet, they end up burning out fairly quick and being a let down, give it a few more years before you spend your money on them.
