Default Mounting KC HiLites

Hey guys, I was curious how/where I should mount the pair of KC HiLites that I got. I don't have a light bar (yet) so I was thinking on mounting them to the bumper. Should I just put them to the left/right of the stock headlights respectively and drill holes through the bumper and mount them there?

Just curious on your opinions.

By the way, these are the 6" 100w lights that are not the slim ones, but I'm fairly sure it'll work out on the bumper.

what i would do as to save your bumper from the drill is get a piece of steel from the depot and drill it out and then use the mounting locations on the bumper to bolt on the steel and the lights.
that way when you do get your light bar you dont have empty holes in your bumper.

i am a fan of reversible temporary mods...

I, too, am a fan of reversible temporary mods.

What do you mean by the mounting locations on the bumper? Like, where you mount the bumper to the frame?

You, my friend, are a genius. Now, I just need to find some flat steel.

Oh, how thick do you think it should be to support the lights?

i would think some 1/8 inch would be more then enough as long as you dont go out like 3 feet.....j/k
its prob a couple bucks at the depot and i would think 1" wide by 1/8" thick would be fine.
the dist depends on the size of your lights and getting them away from the grille a little.

You will need to bend the steel to get the clearance you will need so as to not interfere with the bumper. It's been done before but bending 90 degree angles on 1/4" steel can be a little difficult.

A'ight, so 1/8" thick. Lights should look fine assuming they're not sticking out too far, right?
