Default Mystery Connector

Hello All... '98 S-10, bought last fall (Florida - CLEEEN!!) cruise doesn't work. Changed the brake switch at the pedal just to rule it out, before I crack open the multi-switch on the column (ugh). While doing the 'under-dash limbo', I noticed a small 4-wire connector hanging loose, no idea where it might go. Two purple, one purple/white, and one black-white wires, female connector. I can't see any matching (male) connectors within range of this one, perhaps it's for an option I don't have. Comes thru the firewall w/ the rest of the harness. What I don't want to do is fiddle w/ the other cruise elements and then find out a previous mechanic didn't plug this in / fixes everything. Ideas / suggestions? THANKS!!!! in advance, krappy photos below. rtk3
