If I were buying those LED's and didn't see this thread, my first thought is those are not native 12v LED's. That's why they are including the resistors.
See description at the bottom of the auction. In the description it states:
"+120pcs Free Resistors(470 ohm 1/4W, for DC 12 Voltage)"
They are including the resistors FOR DC 12v.
So I'm pretty sure those are not 12v leds on their own.

Good point...I may have bought the wrong ones then. Oh well. I'm not giving up yet...I still want to see if these will work somehow. If not, then I'll buy more.

If you're having a problem with fitting the LED and resistor in there, you could get a surface mount resistor... Tiny, but they serve the same purpose...

dealextreme.com has a lot of different LED auto bulbs that are just plug in and go. I don't think they have any for the instrument gauges but most everything else.

Thanks..but that's not my problem. You can't buy LED's for any of the ones I'm having trouble with that are just plug and play. They have to be soldered on. I already have my gauges and HVAC done.

would these work.....i have been looking into the same thing.
mainly to relight the stock radio.

does the listing
"12v super blue resistor led"
mean that they have proper resistance built in?
not big on elec. know how...just enough as to not get a shock.

If you're still having a problem with fitment, get some 3v LED's and chain 4 together. This way you don't have to put in a resistor... The LED will act as one. You just have to sum up the voltage of the led to get to 12v (or a little higher to be on the safe side). Just hook up + to - on each one, then the end + and - will go to power wires. I will be doing this myself pretty soon... I did it on my MX-6, and it turned out great... The dimmer worked too!

Might as well piggyback here.
Got a few questions.
What is the bulb number for the window switches?
I was thinking about taking the bulb out of the base, and replace it with a 12v LED. But I accidently dropped the bulb formally in the passenger side and the poor bulb was swallowed by grass so... It is missing.

hahah bumping of an old post of mine.
I was thinking about this the other day. I still haven't gotten mine fixed up. I haven't looked at it lately though..

Well I haven't been able to find the bulbs ANYWHERE. I need to find a replacement bulb, so I can do this, lol.
