Need to know what this is
Hello all! I am not great with cars but blazer seems to be stuck in 3rd gear and so I did some looking around and found this wiring all burnt up. I was wondering if anyone knew what it is called and if it can be replaced at home or needed to be taken to a shop.

Thanks!

Thanks!
Not positive since the layout's slightly different from my Astro, but it looks like the blower motor resistor connector.
You might be able to get a new connector from Rockauto or from your local dealer's parts department. I would get a new blower motor resistor at the same time.

I m surprised the thing is even running ! Thats not a normal home repair and it is not anything about the heater resistor, which is at the firewall under three small square boxes called relays.
You have a serious problem when wires melt like yours did. My self Id be going to a junk yard and buying that whole unit to swap in, but you need better advice than I can give. Hang on here for a couple more days and somebody should be of better help.

It looks like the blower motor resistor connector (didn't say heater resistor), but again, I'm not sure where it is on the Blazer. On the Astro, it's about where it is in the above pic and they burn up like that when either the blower motor's going up, the blower motor resistor's going up or both.
Can we get a pic more from above that connector so we can see what it goes to?
