Default New Battery Question

Not sure if I should post this here or not. I just replaced my battery in a 2003 Blazer. The old battery was a Proffestion grade from Auto Zone. It would start the engine, but not like you would expect. It checked bad, so I replaced it with one with a 2 yr. warranty. It had less crank power, etc.

But what I was wondering, would a bad battery, even though it would start the engine, cause performance problems with the running of the engine. I can swear that my hesitation, smoothness, etc. is much better.

It also does start much quicker, however, like I said, the old one would start it, but checked out badd battery on all tests.

Hope you all know what I am trying to say. Could it be that it had to much power/juice while feeding the electrical componets of the engine?

Thanks in advance...
