Default New Member. PLEASE HELP!!!!

My Wife & I are currently going through the blues with our '98 Chevy Blazer. It randomly started acting crazy with the instrument cluster (gage cluster) lights flickering along with them going in & out. Not to mention the headlights at night flicker with it as well and a couple times even made the truck just cut off while driving.

Just yesterday I installed a brand new alternator, thinking that was the issue (money wasted) and it's STILL doing it! I even checked the grounds to make sure they were clean & tight along with checking fuses. Can anyone please give me some help with what it could be so I can quickly resolve this issue. Thanks!

If the alternator wasn't the issue, it is very likely a loose or corroded connection somewhere. I know you said you checked the grounds, but I would double check, and take each one off, sand the terminal and contact points clean, dielectric grease it, and reattach. Also make sure you check the ground strap from the firewall to the engine on the passenger side, and the small grounds that go to the back of the drivers side head.

Also, check& clean the main positive cables, especially where it connects to the Underhood fuse box.

I figure you already did when you checked the grounds, but You'll have remove the battery tray to get to the positive cables where they connect to the master fuse, and the ground wires that run to the frame and body.
