87 reads 12.66DCV all others were 0.00DCV. When I pulled the relay i replaced it the same way. I looked on the relay and lined up with the new relay as far as how pins were to match up

with the relay removed looking down at the relay socket pins with 12 oclock being up towards the empty fuse socket next to the relay (and the really big fuses up further) and 6 oclock being down towards the 10A fuse next to the relay and using the clock positions of 10/2/4/8, where are 85, 86, 87 and 30 located?

86 would be 10
30 would be 2
85 would be 4
87 would be 8

and once again will that relay go into the socket more than one way, if you rotate it 180 degrees will it also go into the socket?

Then it would be 30 at 8
85 at 10
86 at 4
87 at 2

OK so then we cant actually identify 30 vs 87 or 85 vs 86 so we have to use this description:

10 o'clock and 4 o'clock are the relay coil contacts to energize the coil and turn the relay on sending power to the headlights and can be 85 or 86 interchangeably

2 o'clock and 8 o'clock are the relay contacts to send power to the headlights and can be 30 or 87 interchangeably. We do know that 8 o'clock is fused power for the contacts and that means that 2 o'clock is to send that power to the headlights when the relay is energized.

Now we have to figure out which relay coil pin is connected to ground and which one is supposed to be connected to the HL SW white wire to get 12V and energize the coil to turn on the relay and then the headlights. Put you meter on 200 ohms (the greek omega sign) setting and leave the black negative lead on the battery negative terminal, HL SW disconnected, relay removed and test 10 oclock and then test 4 oclock and tell me everything on the display for each reading.

I mispoke on 30 vs 87, we don't know which is which yet. On DCV setting, and using clock position which socket pin has 12VDC?

Looks like you signed off for the night. Your doing much better and we are making progress now. I think I already know your problem but we need to verify with these last few tests, we are getting close now. I need the tests from both of the last two posts when your ready to get back at it. The last post does not replace my requests from the post before it which is kind of how it reads as I read it again.

10 o'clock reads 00.3 ohms 2 o'clock reads 00.6 ohms
8 o'clock read 12.7dvc
4 o'clock and 8 o clock came up as just a 1 to the far left same as when I turned it on to 200 ohms
