can some one help me on this, so I wanted try this on my blazer the unit is from a 98+ but when i did the connection the unit didnt work. also i had a security, battery and abs lights came on. when i remove the cable from the purple cable that goes to the OBDII reader, there were no lights. so i know the problem but dont know how to solve it. i used a random thin electric cable that is laying in my garage for to carry the yellow cable to the OBDII reader and tap it to the purple. could that be the problem? or is it some thing else?

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but does anyone know if the 95-97 models had the option for gas mileage and all that jazz? I'm wanting the gas mileage readout on my 96, but not sure how much work is involved.

I'd be interested in snagging one from You - I have two full function displays pulled from a '98 and a 2000 before finding out they won't work for me in '95 ... would like to upgrade from the plain temp and compass !

did you ever see uglymonkeys lense mod?
he taped off the backside and was able to change the color of the display
ok, I've spent the past hour searching and scrolling and all I found is that a Sharpie and a piece of plastic were involved in turning his display a nice blue. Since someone else resurrected this thread, I'm going to beg for a link to Ugly_Monkey's super secret color changing console
