Default power problem

Have a 2003 Chevy blazer and I have some electrical problem whenever I.shift into reverse to back up my battery level goes down significantly and my lights dim I do have aux back up lighting however when I them on by themselves they don't do anything to.the battery level... I just got an optima yellow battery and it lessened the dimming a little but not much any ideas if its normal or what it could be
