Pulsing dash cluster lighting
#12
Well, I went to O'Rielly's and Napa this evening. Even the guys at Napa took out a new alternator to check out the connector and it was the new style as well. So, I'm back to what do I do.
It looks like I can wait an purchase the only alternator with the "old" style available or I need to order a "new" style pigtail and do a bit of rewiring. Since I already have the new voltage regulator, and assuming it will work with my alternator, I might as well order the new pigtail and call it quits. This route is still much cheaper than buying a new alternator.
I need to think on this some more.

Well, I fixed the "pulsing" dash lights. A new pigtail and new voltage regulator was the cure. I still find it strange that most, if not all but one, of the alternators sold at the different parts store came with the newer style pigtail connection. Maybe 1998 was some kind of transition year for the recharging system?
Anyway, it's fixed. Now, let's see. What's next? Oh, ya, a none functioning door courtesy light switch.
