Radio lighting issues...then it won't shut off.
Hey guys.
I have a 2004 Chevy S10 Blazer. About a week ago the lighting went out on the stereo only...So I couldn't see what station I was on...the time...volume etc. Everything else worked...I could still change the volume, station and hear everything. Then today the radio got stuck...meaning it was on MAX volume on a particular station...I couldn't change anything. When I got home I shut the truck down...pulled the key and opened the doors....the radio still played! After a few minutes it shut off. Does anyone know what this could be? Is it just a bad stereo? Thanks in advance!

I believe the radio is bad, which would cause the lighting and volume issues. But I don't think a bad radio would cause it to stay on after shutting the truck off and opening the doors.
I'd change out the radio, and see if the new one shuts off like it should. If it doesn't, you may need to start looking at your door jamb switches or the RAP circuit.
