Default Rear hatch release button

The outside hatch button doesn't work.
The inside button on the dash works no problem.

How much of a PITA is it to change the switch on the door out?

I had the same problem. I removed my rear hatch button (200 Jimmy) and took it apart. It cleaned up nicely. No need for a replacement if you are careful. It works great now.

Not sure if it was my thread you were referring to. If you scroll down through the replies, you'll see that I cover the button that has the keyhole in it too.

Good link Blazen! My SIL paid a shop almost $300 for this repair. They didn't know how to do it, so they disclosed on the work order that they were not responsible for damage to the trim on the tailgate!

Oh that's nice lol

Yeah I decided to make that how-to after doing it to an old work truck once (before I ever owned a Blazer personally), and then had to do it when I bought my own Blazer lol. Same symptom, this fix worked for both flawlessly

I have the endgate. Button doesn't have keyhole. But for the life of me, I can't figure how to get the switch assembly out....

the switch in the dash? or the button out of the gate?

if you're talking about the button in the gate, open the link I posted earlier to my how-to, detailed instructions there on removing the button and fixing it
