Default rear window poper

hi, i have a 98 blazer 4x4 4door.
it has the 1 peice rear tailgate that lifts up.

since 2 days, the button on the tailgate to pop the window stoped working.
i have to pop the window with the button on the dash inside.

anyone can help me troubleshoot it ?

thanks for your time !

A good start would be to pull the trim off the inside of the lift gate. Then test the contacts on the switch itself. Probably is just a dead switch. Pretty basic trouble shooting really.

ok thanks for the reply, but the switch also have a key hole to unlock it manualy with a key.
but since i own the truck, that key hole never worked so i always had to use the inside button or unlock all doors with the button in the door, then just press un that tailgate button to unlock the window.

so i guess it will be a bigger job than just a switch, thats why i would like to know if people had problem doing it...

thanks for your time,
Anthony

Key hole or not, it all starts inside the liftgate.

Test the switch itself. It should test open (infinite resistance) when not pressed and closed (near zero resistance) when pressed. If that checks out, then you can move to testing the wiring.
