Reverse light wire color

Reverse light wire color
I have a 2004 Blazer 4x4. I am trying to locate the wire under the dash for the backup lights. Does any one happen to know where the wire is and what color?
What gauge wire used for reverse in the back? I want to get a quick splice to hook up my backup camera. I'm thinking it's 14 or 16 gauge wire.
Thanks
Jim

On my 2000 the fuse for the vehicle back up lights is under the hood. Above it is a fuse for trailer back up lights. If yours has the trailer back up lights the quickest, easiest way would be to splice into the trailer wire or get a trailer harness plug and connect your camera to the trailer back up light wire. If you do tow a trailer you'd have to unplug the camera, but I suppose the trailer would block the camera anyway.

I'm not sure if you have an automatic trans or manual.. so let's do both.
MTX: wire # 1524 comes off the A pin of the backup switch
ATX: wire # 1524 comes off the #10 pin of the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch
Either way.. it's a 16 gauge grey wire that runs from the switch to the underhood fuse block. Pin B11 on connector C2. Goes to two fuses:
VEH B/U 15A fuse, and TRL B/U 10A fuse IF you have the trailer wiring provision (can't remember the RPO code for that, sorry).
VEH B/U feeds to pin F3 on connector C1 out of the underhood fuse block, wire # 1324 which is a 16 gauge light green wire. Runs thru the firewall at P100, spliced off at S309 (not sure where that is, but I could look it up if you need.. likely in the body harness somewhere). Feeds all the way back to connectors C402 and C403 which are at the rear of the vehicle, near the rear lights.
It also splices off and feeds the rear view mirror (if you have the autodimming mirror), so it goes thru connector C209 which I believe is the one accessible at the top of the dash in the driver's side A-pillar. Might have to have the dash forward to get it, I can't recall.
I hope that helps! I have a harness out of an 01 I'm working on splicing in, if you need me to look deeper exactly where it runs.
