Default Steering column cruise control wires

My multifunction switch was acting up so I went to the junkyard to get a new one. The problem is that the new one has two pairs of small green and black wires that were cut. I believe these wires are for the cruise control which my 2000 2-door does not have. Both pairs of wires lead to a green connector in the steering column. Are there any adverse effects of just leaving both pairs of green and black wires disconnected since I don't have cruise control or should I splice them in? My new switch does not have the cruise buttons/controls.
