Default Steering column plugs

I've got an 88 S-10 Blazer I just installed a remote starter in. While I was under the dash I pretty much completely destroyed the steering column harness plug. The one I'm talking about is the one for the multifunction lever and horn, not the ignition plugs. It's white on the column side and black on the blazer side and it slides into a little perch on the right hand side of the column. It was really brittle and practically fell apart in my hand, and I think it might have been falling apart before I touched it. Right now I've got the loose pins stuck in their respective plugs in the half of the plug that is still good for a temporary fix but I want to replace the plug the right way. (loose connectors are a bad idea!)

I could go to a junkyard and find one but I'm sure anything I find at a junkyard is going to be as brittle as the one I already pulled out so I doubt I could depin it and repin it to my harness without destroying it again. Does anyone know of any place that sells just that plug or even the whole steering column harness?

On the bright side, my wipers no longer turn on when I turn the high beams on. I guess you really could call that "the bright side"

Man a old vehicle like that it will be hard to find that kind of part. Maybe the dealer but i doubt it. I personally would use a micro torch and solder all the wires together. I mean its there to make steering column removal easier but how often do you actually remove a steering column? Micro torches are great for soldering larger wires i used one everytime i install a stereo or alarm/remote starter. If the conections are there simply heat them with the torch and melt solder into them then cover with tape. Of you could use shrink wrap if you wanna get professional.

I soldered all of the ignition wires together, heavy gauge wires are a PITA to solder...

I really don't want to just solder them all together. First, there's at least 12 or so wires down there and there's only an inch or two of slack, that with the fact that they're all under the dash would make for a really fun afternoon. Plus I'm planning on a V8 swap in the spring so I really don't want to make anything super permanent just yet.

I might just leave them as I have it all now and worry about fixing it the right way when I have the dash all pulled and I've got room to work. If anyone knows of a place to buy a replacement plug or steering column harness I would much rather go that way.

Thanks for the tips though!
