Default Sun visor light issue

Hi everyone, new to the forum, just picked up a '02 Blazer LS 4 door and having an issue with the sun visor light staying on as the cover broke off recently.

I searched and found a few threads talking about replacement, but I just want the light off permenantly.

My thought was to pull the bulbs out, would the visor still draw power with the switch on if there are no bulbs? My thought was no, but not sure and figured this would be the best place to ask! Would clipping and capping the wires be better?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Welcome. You thought right. Removing the bulbs will give you an open circuit. No voltage draw. Just put the clear bulb cover lenses back on and it will be fine.

Awesome, I figured that would be good, but not too experienced with automotive wiring!
Thanks!

Let us know if anything stops working. I don't believe removing the bulbs would break the connection to any other circuits that are tied into that fuse.

Will update after a day or so if anything is not functioning as normal.

The bulbs lived up to their reputation of being tough to pull from the sockets! I busted one in the process.
