Default tcase motor wiring diagram

hey! seeing if anyone can help me out. got a 136gm 15048306 AWD tcase previous owners deleted the front drive shaft tc motor and cut harness out. I'm getting all parts together, but need wiring diagram for that motor. looks like 5 wires and 1 (has 2 lines together). so 7 pin harness I need help with.

What year and model? Is it a Bravada? I believe you are referring to the NP-136 transfer case.

it is a 97 bravada, almost identical to the blazer. unfortunately no, the tag on back of t case clearly says 136 gm

A 97 would have had the Borg-Warner BW4472 full-time AWD t-case, not the New-Process NP136 part-time AWD t-case. Since the BW4472 t-case is a full-time AWD with a torque split of 35/65 front/rear accomplished through a viscous coupling, the removal of the front driveshaft on the original BW4472 t-case would ruin the viscous coupling and render the vehicle inoperative. I really don't want to speculate on what happened to the original, but your way forward is to find the BW4472 t-case and associated front driveshaft and install it. No electronics necessary and all you would need to then make sure of is that the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) hasn't been messed with when the NP136 was installed.

The BW4472 can be found in AWD versions of the Blazer, Bravada, as well as the Astro and Safari mini-vans.

  1. thanks I've been pulled many directions on this mainly because the gm 136 wasn't originally supposed to be in there. I will look at the wiring diagram for the bw4472 which was my original thought but the numbers weren't adding up. so much for an easy fix. I did find out bravada would have originally have rpo code np3, per glove box. probably explains the exposed cut wires.

Doing some research this transfer case
(136 gm 1504 8306) is for the newer model awd bravadas safari astros up to 2001 I believe. If I get a hold of all wiring and sensors/tccm for gm136, is it possible and/or worth it, to convert that awd system into the 97 bravada? What would I need in order to do that? I appreciate if you have any knowledge of this and would care to share. I know you said stick with the original tcase.

I do not think it would be worth it to follow through with the change over to an NP136. Many of the other related electrical components & integrations are not there on the early 2nd gens. The TCCM for the NP136 and NP236 transfer cases were part of the OBD2 network in the truck. Your '97 would not have the same network layout as the 98+ trucks would so I am not sure if it would even be possible without having a complete 98+ donor for wiring, ecm, bcm, tccm, etc...

In my opinion, your easiest path forward would be to source a BW4472 transfer case and front driveshaft to install in your truck.

That should be the ticket.

I think you mentioned a hacked up wiring harness and if there are cut wires, you would still need to determine what those wires are for and make the necessary repair(s) to get everything as close to stock as possible.

the donor car (95 jimmy awd) only had a speed sensor to transfer case and vent tube. Anyone have wiring diagram for for transmission/transfer case for 97 bravada?
