Default Trailer light plug ??

My '01 Blazer/Trailblazer has the factory trailer hitch but does not have the plug for trailer lights. And I have been looking for a trailer plug that just plugs in between the factory wiring harness and can't seem to find one. All the ones I have found you have to hack/ tap into the factory harness. I have found in the past it is easy enough to do but I have had problems down the road doing it that way. So I am hoping someone can point out a part# or maker of the type that plugs in between the factory harness without cutting wires.

I only use the Trailblazer to pull my Zodiac RIB or a friends 16' fishing boat since when I use my dually I can't even see the little boat behind the truck.

If there is no plug in style listed , probably not able to do it that way

my blazer had a bundle of wires right behind the bumper so I just needed to test light them to find the wires needed
IF you solder and shrink tube your splices you should NEVER have issues with your connections

Look your application up at www.etrailer.com
there is likely a tutorial on their site regarding the wiring

Yeah there's no inline plug for a blazer, are you sure there's no wires back there? I think even the bare bones blazers came with the wiring there.

Thanks guys! I have never really looked under the rear bumper for a bundle of wires. So now that you say that I went outside and looked under the bumper and see the bundle of wires you are talking about. So I am glad to know they are tied into the rear taillights. I already have a spare 4 pin plug I can wire in.

I need to spend more time here reading and getting to know this Gen2 Blazer. You guys are so knowledgeable about these Blazers I have so much I can learn. Lucky for me up to this point even with a 189k I haven't had many problems to deal with yet. But I am sure they are coming with 200k around around the corner. My wife and I both agree that this Trailblazer has been such a great little SUV that I am just going to keep fixing it until the wheels fall off.

Thanks Again !! reps sent.

"Till the wheels fall off" LOL
I said that about my Civic when I bought it B/N in 2001
I just got rid of it in the fall because the transmission failed
I wish I would have just had the transmission replaced but my wife talked me into getting a new car since the Blazer is a 2005 and probably closer to the bone yard than the Civic

The guy that bought my Civic fixed the transmission so his daughter had a set of wheels for university
It was still pretty clean I am pretty **** about interior , no rust
Just 12/13 years old

The great thing about vehicle specific forums is everybody generally has tried to do the same thing or had the same issues
Answers are often readily available

I myself never buy new cars or trucks I just can't afford it. So I always look for a 1 owner car/ truck about 10yrs old in most cases if I guy keeps a car for that long he has taken care of it. People that don't take care of their cars sell them every 2 to 5 yrs. So I stay away from something that has 2 or 3 owners in 10yrs. I myself keep my cars & trucks for about 20 yrs. Now your Civic is something I would like to get my hands on when I am looking

My wifes '01 Blazer was a 1 owner with 135k and the guys wife had talked him into selling it because she wanted something new. CHUMP!! There was nothing wrong with it. Never any body or paint work, it only had 2 door dings, the interior was perfect and the thing had never been off road. No kids had ever been in it and now my 5 yr old daughter has trashed it. And my wife has trashed the paint job and it now has 6 or 7 dents in!! But it runs good and the 4x4 works and it has earned it keep this winter. So I plan on getting to know this model better and spend some cash to keep up with the things that are and will wear out.

So that is where having the Blazer forum is GREAT !! To have a group of guys with so much knowledge and their willingness to share is Awsome !!
Thanks

10 years ago I would re and re the transmission on my Civic without a second thought
I was able to get $1500 for it with the no go transmission so that probably attests to the overall condition of a 12/13 year old car
I had rust proofed it every year , ironically the Blazer was supposed to have been done every year as well but don't think it really was

I work out of town so a decent reliable fuel economical car is a must
I am a fan of wrenching less an less as the years go by
