Default Weard electrical

Hello, I'm going threw my new to me blazer, and the dr door light pin switch is missing, the weard part is it is working. I open the door the lights come on, 1st I thought it was the delay function it the door handle, but even with the eng running I open the door they come on, close it and they go off w/o a switch. How can it do that? Is it alive and being nice.

I believe that it was '98 in which the door switch moved into the handle/latch mechanism. Maybe yours is a very late '97 with this setup?

Obviously to fill the hole that remained in the side of the dash!

If you have wires connected to it, then that should be the switch for the lights. GM did some screwy things with the door switches depending on whether you had the content theft deterrent system.
