Default What is this part?

I have a 99 Chevy blazer, so here’s the story. I got this blazer from a friend who said he couldn’t always start his truck and that after the car would heat up it would go into a limp mode thinking the car is getting stolen. He took out the attached picture part after his key fob stopped working. I got rid of the security light on pre ignition with a bypass part I bought and it started perfectly. But now I tried yesterday and it starts, runs for a couple seconds and dies. My questions are

what is that part?
Does that part have any control over fuel pump control?
Do I need this part reinstalled to make it run?

Please help! Thank you guys!

here are the pictures idk they can’t upload.

Is there no part number on the back? If there is, I'd start there with a Google search of the number.

Funny how much that box looks IDENTICAL to older DEI and Viper alarm/remote start/immobilizer boxes...

That being said, I would say yes, once you remove it, it's killing ignition and not turning everything on to make the truck run as normal (fuel pump, etc)
