Default Window Won't Go Back Up

Hey Guys, new to the board here. I had a 1994 blazer for years and recently picked up a 1998 4dr LS. 120k miles and 30k on a new motor. Doing various projects to get it back up to 100%. Did the thermostat yesterday, today its the passenger side window.

The window goes down but will not go up unless you hold the up button and bang the door handle (previous owner showed me this).

My question is: Is this the motor, control arm or a loose wire?

Thanks!!

Steve

Sounds like a loose wire to me. I would remove the paneling and check them.

Checked all the wiring, seems to be all tight all around.

Next thing I would do is check amperage if you can, if not the maybe try another switch, other then that could be a motor going.

you could have good power when not in use, but have a drop when switch is used? Just tossing things out there.

edit: check lubrication out rails and the little nylon rollers?

Drivers side switch doesn't work it and the passenger side switch doesn't work it either. I'm leaning towards the motor

Hmmm... I lead with switches because you said it goes up if you tap on your door handle?

either way, a door is about 50$ and door pins are 30$. Can probably find cheaper or reuse pins.

when my windows stuck I got a new Switch but it didn't change anything. then based on a tip i read here I gave the motor a few whacks with a hammer. the window works fine now.

Got the new motor today and what a pain in the a** to replace. Problem solved, both switches now work the window up and down. Hope this helps someone else at some point. Also tried to whack the motor a few times but no luck before I replaced the motor.

I saw where you can buy the motor and the arms together. It cost more, do you think it would be worth it?
