Wiper Delay messed up when Headlights on...
Hello everyone,
I'm new here and hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 97 Blazer 4.3, 2wd. I had wrecked it pretty bad last year. It sat for over a year while I slowly put it back together.
Well got it back to driving in February and since then I have had this issue. Whenever I turn my headlights on with the wipers on in any position on the delay setting it is like it is in the highest setting. Turn the lights off the delay works perfectly. Lights on, I use the mist setting and the wipers won't shut off for a mile down the road. I hit a bump or have a hard shift, wipers come on. Turn the lights on, without wipers on again it'll do 2-3 wipes. The rear wiper is also messed up and is intermittent on whether it wants to work or not.
So I had a suspicion that it was the multifunction switch so I replaced that, no dice. Still have the same problem.
I had read something about the circuit board having a recall and being intermittent, but that doesn't sound like the same issue I'm having. Maybe that is what is going on with the rear wiper but I'm assuming that's not what's going on here.
Also, my Dad's 97 GMC sierra 1500 just started doing the same thing but not nearly as bad as mine. Hope someone has experience here, driving me insane.
Thanks

Hey,
I'm new here too, got a 2000 chevy blazer I bought on the 19'th of last month
I have the same issue with the rear wiper, for me it seems like its too tight against the window?
Also, have you checked all the wiring? I don't have that problem, only the rear windshield wiper.
it sounds like maybe wires are getting crossed or something
